From the gavel pit to Europe?s most modern waste management center
With the founding of the EZR Weiningen AG, the Swiss company group Richi+Co., one of our customers, has achieved a remarkable development within the last few decades. Since 1920, the company has its roots in a gravel pit in Weiningen, in the Swiss canton Zurich. Today the most modern waste management center in Europe is located at this place.
The company Richi+Co. started running the EZR in June last year. The manager of the company, Jacob Richi Jr. said, he had invested many "ideas, time, strengths, and money" in the project.
As a logistic company and partner of construction companies we had encountered materials that, that are in need of proper waste management. Furthermore we had dealt with treatment of hazardous waste. Our goal was to gain energy from biomass to reuse it in our own company and to put it up for sale. Since 1997, Richi+ Co. has focused on the realization of the idea ? from the first thought, extensive approval procedures, financing without governmental benefits until the structural realization at last.
Today the EZR runs a biomass generation station, realizes thermal soil treatments, treats bulky waste and demolition waste, and recycles concrete, among other things.
