Processing of Biomass for Fermentation

INPUT: biogenous material

OUTPUT: liqud output < 12 mm (0.12'')

Fermentaion means the anaerobic decomposition of biogenous material by micro-organisms. Several groups of bacteria, which cooperate closely, transform the biogenous material to biogas.

The organic residues from households, municipal enterprises, landscaping, food industry and trade are collected separately and prepared for fermentation.

I. e. we focus on the preparation of the material for fermentation. By means of our machines, the delivered material is shredded (homogenized) and separated form the fluid fraction with the help of a screw extruder. The fluid will be used for fermentation. The solid fraction can be used later for incineration or for composting.

PLANT EXAMPLE

Input material: biogenous material
Throughput: up to 10 t/h
Output grain size: fluid < 12 mm (0.12'')
Utilization output: recycling, thermal utilization (solid output)

PROCESS DESCRIPTION (example)

The input material is charged into the shredder DW 3060 by wheel loader or excavator. During this step, a first pre-sorting is carried out and large contaminants such as metal and rocks can be sorted out.

After the shredding, iron parts are separated by means of an overband magnet.

The shredded material is transported to the mixer DM 215 and mixed with water if necessary in order to achieve a homogeneous mass.

This mass passes through the screw extruder DSP 20-5 which is connected to the mixer. The screw extruder can be equipped with different baskets (mesh sizes) in order to achieve a defined fluid fraction. Depending on the screw extruder parameters, a defined dry substance content of the solid fraction can be produced.

MOBILE DOPPSTADT MACHINES

DW 3060

DM 215

The roller length of the DW 3060 is 3 m (9'10''). The roller rotates at 31 rpm. 21 roller teeth and 22 comb teeth shred the material.

The mixer DM 215 is provided with three screw shafts and a 15 m³ (530 ft³) mixing chamber. The field of application is the homogenization of different biological materials, substrates and sludges, producing accurate mixtures and compositions.

STATIONARY DOPPSTADT MACHINES

DW 2060 E

DM 215 E

DSP 20-5

The DW 2060 E shreds the material with a 2 m (6'7'') roller, 14 teeth pull the material to be shredded from above through a shredding comb. The powerful rotary current motor enables an efficient mechanic power transmission by direct drive with planetary gear.

Thanks to the excellent mixing process and the very robust design, the DM 215 E can be used for various applications.

The screw conveyor moves the material to be pressed towards the discharge area through a basket. During this process the water contained in the material is pressed out.
